Ryan Ondo is a filmmaker and visual artist based in New York City & Tokyo. Working across multiple disciplines -- color-grading, cinematography, photography, creative direction, and generative AI -- he builds multimedia projects and intuitive AI workflows that challenge the boundaries of the art-human interaction, collaborating with fellow filmmakers, musicians, dancers, and friends.

Poiesis (ποίησις) is the Greek word for making or creation. It was understood as a bringing-forth: a stepping out of concealment into presence, the way a flower brings itself to bloom. 

Here, Poiesis is letting what was already there come to light.

日本生まれ、日系アメリカ人。ニューヨーク大学　Tisch芸術学部で映画制作を専攻。ニューヨークと東京を拠点に、映像作家 / AIアーティストとして活動。撮影、カラーグレーディング、クリエーティブ・ディレクション、生成AI など複数の分野でアートと人間の関わり方の可能性を広げる、マルチメディア作品を制作。仲間の映像作家やミュージシャン、ダンサー達とも協力し、既存の表現の枠を超える作品作りに取り組んでいる。
